According to the likes of Alex Callinicos, I’ve given up on public sector strikes. Somehow, I ended up at the inspiring Brighton teachers rally. Following a 2000 strong march, hundreds of mainly young, angry teachers cheeerd and whooped to militant talks from health workers, fire fighters, and Green MP Caroline Lucas on the platform.
I could see more ex-SWP than current members, not surprising as all the council workers and half the health workers and university staff have left.
The rally was ended with local folk singer Robb Johnson leading the strikers who he referred to as an anarchist-collective at one point, in a sing-a-long, especially composed for the strike song about Michael Gove.Who is really hated.
